"When Heaven Breaks In"
SUNDAY AM Message | Austin Davis | February 15, 2026

Heaven breaks into earth when ordinary people who abide with Jesus carry Him into everyday life.

Big idea: Helping folks see that Jesus invites them to live in a Kingdom reality that is available and accessible to any and every one who would accept it.

You have authority to see the Kingdom of God not just be over you and in you but come through you.

Acts 3:1-10 (ESV)

1 Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. 2 And a man lame from birth was being carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple that is called the Beautiful Gate to ask alms of those entering the temple. 3 Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked to receive alms. 4 And Peter directed his gaze at him, as did John, and said, “Look at us.” 5 And he fixed his attention on them, expecting to receive something from them. 6 But Peter said, “I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!” 7 And he took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong. 8 And leaping up, he stood and began to walk, and entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God. 9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God, 10 and recognized him as the one who sat at the Beautiful Gate of the temple, asking for alms. And they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

Romans 8:11 (NLT)

The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.

John 14:12-13 (NASB)

12 Truly, truly I say to you, the one who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I am going to the Father. 13 And whatever you ask in My name, this I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

1. Learn to daily abide with Jesus

Acts 3:1 (ESV)

Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.

John 15:4-5 (NIV)

4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

2. Look at people with Kingdom eyes

Acts 3:4-5 (ESV)

4 And Peter directed his gaze at him, as did John, and said, “Look at us.” 5 And he fixed his attention on them, expecting to receive something from them.

"Hurry is the great enemy of the spiritual life."

Matthew 9:36 (ESV)

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

3. Share the hope that is inside you

Acts 3:6 (ESV)

But Peter said, “I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!”

Philippians 4:19 (ESV)

And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

It is clear you don't like my way of doing evangelism. You raise some good points. Frankly, I sometimes do not like my way of doing evangelism. But I like my way of doing it better than your way of not doing it. - D.L. Moody

4. Live it out

The Gospel is meant to be proclaimed with our words and portrayed with our lives.

Acts 3:7 (ESV)

And he took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong.

Acts 4:13 (ESV)

Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.

Matthew 22:37-40 (NIV)

37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Philippians 2:5 (NIV)

In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus…

Luke 6:27 (NIV)

But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you…

Every person we meet is a God opportunity - to love and to serve. Every day is full of possible miracles. Every moment is pregnant with possibility, if only we open our eyes. - John Mark Comer
